This is a story set in a possible dark future of our own planet.

Mankind’s mistakes have precipitated climatic change on a staggering scale that has never before been seen. Electrical storms struck first, destroying much of the old world’s technology and infrastructure, following which the Earth was plunged into a new ice age. Civilization has been returned to prehistoric levels, with the daily struggle for survival taking the place of former, more esoteric concerns. Humans prey on each other and are preyed on in turn by fabled creatures that have returned from the mists of prehistory together with the falling snow. Karl Anderson is one of the few who has found the strength to carry on in this bleak new world but even his limits are soon to be put to the ultimate test. How can humanity go on when the Earth itself is about to die?
