This is the story of a vet and a policeman in the remote Scottish borders who investigate what are at first thought to be animal attacks by foxes or the recently re-introduced local wolf pack. Soon it appears that there may be much more to these attacks than was first thought and that they may in fact be linked to an ancient curse that has until now always been discounted as no more than a legend.
